If you fly the plane and shut off one ignition at a time at cruise RPM, it should confirm that both ignitions are operating correctly.  If brakes are weak, perhaps chock wheels and ground check at 4000 RPM.  I think check at 4000 RPM will also show satisfactory result...

Shutting off an ignition module in flight to troubleshoot. That’s one I’ve not heard before. Is there something about being in flight that is different than securing the aircraft to something immovable on the ground and checking the circuits at 5,000 RPM?

Testing on the ground will be my choice.  I'm a little hesitant to keep flying it until I find out what (if anything) is wrong.  I've got a written list of what I'll check next time I get to the airport.  I'll know a lot more after that.

Ive had a similar problem.  Realize Rotax engines turn off when they are grounded.  So if you have an ignition box that passes inspection, it may indeed be an intermittent ground as it was with me.  If I were you, I'd rewatch the recent Lockwood aviation video on youtube about ignition troubleshooting, and he mentions swapping ignition boxes.  Swap the horizontal molex connectors, then the vertical, and make notes.

If you swap box connectors and the problem moves to the other key position, then you know it's ig module related.  If the problem stays and moves with the ignition box it could be carburetion.  In my case, I had an intermittent ground going through the firewall to the ACS keyswitch.

I think we've covered most of that, except for the intermittent ground.  I don't have anything as severe as a complete ignition cutout, even it it was brief.  I've got plenty to check, but I need time.  I wasn't able to get to the airport today.  Maybe late tomorrow, or Wed.  I'll definitely report back.
