I agree with Sean. I'm not a silicone user either. Cost vs benefit and a deep inspection of all areas during a rubber change and since you only do a couple of hoses you still have the rest of the rubber change to do.
Point:
I just finished a hose change on a Flight Design CTSW. During this I found two oil hoses burned through two layers of fire sleeve that were not visible during a normal inspection. It was already burning through the rubber hose. We caught it in the nick of time. You couldn't see it unless you pulled everything out from the back that wasn't normally visible. If it had been Teflon it would have burned too.
