Tempest Oil Filter

Good morning!

Quick question, i am looking at 3 separate planes with 912ULS engines and all 3 have the Tempest Oil Filter P/N AA825706. its states "Replaces Rotax Filter for 912/914 engines" .

I see that Aircraft Spruce sells it.

They guy here says "It's approved for Rotax" I rather hear "It's approved by Rotax". I did contact a Rotax rep and was told "NO".

Can anyone shed light on this please? Thank you all again.

The Tempest filters do not have the same internal bypass spring pressure or protective filter element etc. as the Rotax Filter. The Tempest filter is NOT approved by Rotax.
