With a rubber replacement in progress this year, primarily to replace the fuel hose, a few points. the Rotax approved coolant hose, a wrapped product, holds up very well. Some smooth Gates in same service not quite as good. The fuel hose I'm replacing is 1/4 and 5/16 and so stiff it stands straight out even in 4 foot lengths. The rubber donut engine mounts, while just showing a small amount of deterioration, have also lost a lot of their softness. They'd be ok for a good while but I'm replacing them. The statements made by others above about age and heat and exposure are evident in all the rubber parts of my systems.

".....primarily to replace the fuel hose,...."
Primarily ? all hoses (fuel/oil/coolant), carb rubbers, are recommend for replacement. A lot of owners will also replace engine mount rubbers, at this time as well.
Whats a " .......a wrapped product........"?
I have found Gates products to be excellent - never had a failure, fuel hoses almost like new at 5 years and oil hoses only a little stiffer than new - most get recycled for abrasion coverings, cable/zip tie rings, ground based equipment (mainly mowers & pumps).
