    Hi all

Do not mix carb experience in this issue with the injected versions.  The carb creates a fuel vapor as it enters the intake manifold, this has a cooling effect in that the entire intake after the carb is considered "wet".  The injection is a multi-port design in that the fuel is added after the manifold directly before the inlet valve into the cylinder.  As such all the intake is "dry" and lacks the cooling effect of the fuel vapor to that point.  For sure at low speed the manifold temperatures will read higher to the point that engines with injection may require additional cooling air, via a duct or fan, to maintain the correct temperatures.  OEM aircraft who used carb engines will always have to address the extra intake cooling needed on an injected version.

    Cheers

    Caio,

I will take a couple photos of the induction air intake on my plane and post them in the next couple of days.
