I listened to an EAA webinar last night with Phil Lockwood discussing the 912 engine as the speaker.  It was very informative but he said something which I submitted a question to verify what he said… he said the oil should be changed at 100 hours OR one year, whichever comes first.  Does anyone know from where the one-year interval comes?  I’ve looked through the Line Maintenance Manual and the 100 Hobbs hour interval is all I can find.  Are others using the calendar year too?  If so, can anyone explain the logic of calendar vs. engine time?
