Thank you Bill,
I am getting temps up around 240 in clime out to about 2500ft. Temps come back down to 212-225 in cruse. However, the OAT is around 28degF or lower (I am in Alaska) right now and I am in the fly off 40 hours so flying solo and light load. My concern is one, what will happen in summer temps and two, what will happen with the extra demand of floats and full load. Hearing that most folks have low temps in the winter while I am seeing high normal has me concerned so I am trying to find options.
I really appreciate your any thoughts.

Temps like that seem unlikely in your situation so I would suspect a sensor problem. I assume you do not have a vernatherm in your system to check. One thing you could do is look at the settings in your EMS and make sure the correct sensor is selected. Other ideas are a direct reading thermometer or a digital laser temperature gun to see if your temps are really that high. If they truly are that high then there could be a flow problem - either the pump or a blockage somewhere.

Thank you Jon,
you are correct I do not have a vernatherm.
Good suggestions I will look into those as well. I think the EMS is correct but I will verify. Pressure reading are normal but, of course, that does not mean flow is. I will look into that as well.
Again, thank you.

Update:
It was an airflow problem. This cowl extension to create negative pressure at the back of the cowl dropped the Oil (and coolant) temps by 25 to 30 deg.
Thanks all again for the feedback and suggestions.

I fly in So Cal. the summer temps sometimes hit 110f , with several months hovering close to 100f. I like to fly and don't want to be bothered with babysitting temps on a hot engine. My plane is a RV-12 with a tightly cowled 912ULS. I did this mod to add a second oil cooler....problem solved. I also added a thermostatis to deal with the colder days and not dealing with radiator tape.
The oil cooler mod is here; http://waltsrv12.com/engine/adding-second-oil-cooler/
