If you draw a line straight from one side of the aft end of the yellow lines to the other in your example to square off the extension That is about what I have in mind. It would drop to approx. 3” in the center and the “V” I mentioned would be a “crease” in center of the extension. I would attach the edges to the cowl with aluminum rivets to start so they are easy to drill out. Remove the remove the small extension that currently exists. The new extension would be larger, be “swept down and be transitioned from the middle “V Creese” of approx. 3” drop to mee I would probably have it drop about an 1’ at the edge and then make a lip to attach it if I were doing it.t the cowing at the edge.

Thanks, Scott! I appreciate it, although I must admit I'm having a hard time following what you're saying. I read what you said three times but can't fully figure out what you're trying to explain. Any chance you could draw it? Would be a big help!

Scott, are you suggesting to build an extension to make it look something like this?

I.m sorry I am not the best when it comes to drawing I usually work with a 3D mock up.
Yes I am thinking something like the one in the photo you posted but I was thinking it would not going quite as far aft, When I was talking about the "V" think about a shape like a "V" boat hull. The one pictured seams to be flat across with s slight sweep down at the rear. I can't tell if the rear gap in the one pictured is very large or not but if so that design might be a better one.
The one I was describing would be shorter but with more drop in the middle and a slightly more aggressive angle down.
If I get a chance Ill try to make a cardboard mock up and take a pic.

Thanks, Scott! I think I understand what you mean by a boat hull now… so V shaped but 3D. If you get a chance to make a mock-up, that would be super! But if not, I understand! I just wish Tecnam knew how to design an engine cowling to begin with and I didn’t have to go modifying it to get proper cooling.
