916 fuel pump alternatives

I had similar concerns, but in the end just went with the Rotax version and followed RANS guidance. I believe they've changed the lower TBO on the pumps. So far so good. 

Thanks so much for your advice. I was leaning that way too since the rest of the hardware with relief valves etc is well thought through

The worry is the TBO but perhaps they will increase that with more data.

When did you finish your S-21?

Reach out to Lockwood in nearby Sebring, if you haven't already. I believe they offer an alternative fuel pump solution for the 916.

I don't get it. You're going to spend $50,000 on an engine but are trying to save money on the fuel pump?  A non-rotax

fuel pump would probably void your warranty.

He may be just looking for better quality / longevity than the Rotax pumps. Lockwood is a Rotax ISC and many say their solution is superior.
