intermittent zero oil temprature
While flying in my home turf I keyed the mike to announce I was entering the area and as I did it I noticed the Oil Temprature needle on my Quad gauge immediately went to Zero. I unkeyed the mike and the temp stayed at Zero. I immediatly started looking for the closest runway in the valley and tried hard to read the instrument panel and make sure that was a temprature gauge and NOT a Pressure Gauge.
The engine was humming merrily so I didn't do anything rash, I just headed into the pattern at the neares strip. I was relieved when the needle returned to 180 degrees farenhiet during final. I announced my position and the needle was fine. I landed and inspected the bulb and associated wiring, it looks ok.
the problem persists intermittently. Ideas?
