Hello, After sitting for two weeks the engine will not start. I have replaced the battery, the
spark plugs, and electric fuel pump. I have inspected the start Rotax HD and it appears fine. I use 93 auto fuel without ethanol. The bottom plugs are wet with fuel and after several hours or the next day it starts normally. Once it starts, it will start immediately every day, unless I wait ten or more days. The problem occurs winter or summer, I live in central Florida. I would appreciate any guidance. Thank You , Ray Moran

    Ray,

What do you have to do to finally start it?

Sounds like a flooding problem. Are the plugs wet after the engine stands a couple of weeks, or after you try to start it?

    Bill.

This could be an improper idle setup, carbs out of sync or improper starting technique with the two items listed.
What is the idle set at with a warm engine? When were the carbs last synced and how old are the carbs in years and hours? Do you have the enrichers (chokes)set up? If the idle is set too low or too high it may make starting hard. If you add throttle when trying to start it may make it hard. try starting with no electric pump running. You may be flooding if the needle valves need replacement and your electric pump is flooding past them.

Thanks for the reply. It turns out that it was ignition modules. I sent three to Lockwood for testing:
one wwas fine , one did not spark until 1600 rpm, and the other until 3000 rpm. So much for the posts that state that they hardly ever fail.

Thanks for the reply. It turns out that the ignition module failed. I sent three for testing: one passed, the second would not spark until 1600 rpm, and the third until 3000 rpm. I was told that this does happen to some of the modules. Also, "if" you get the engine started on a bad module it will continue to start for awhile. That is why this was so elusive. Thanks Again,

I now start on one module only(alternating), hoping to pickup on any low rpm issues.
