    Hi,
I am interested in an airplane with rotax engine SN. 5646671. I would appreciate any information about this engine.
    Thanks,
    Jim

It's currently not possible for members of the general public to look up manufacturing dates online (we have put in a request for this).

Not all bulletins include data for serial numbers, so I recommend searching by DATE RANGE instead ("By Date": date of manufacture to present) - that will give you a more comprehensive checkist.

    6778760 was produced 13-Jul-2011

    Engine Type: ROTAX 912 ULS
    Engine Version: 912 ULS2
    Model Number: 309120110

    Original Factory Configuration:
    without fuel lines
    UL2 I=2,43 with clutch
    without vacuum pump
    with green valve covers
    without mech. tachom. pick up
    without external generator
    without air guide baffle
    with std. temperatur sensors
with nipple conn. for oil pump
    with expansion tank
    without air box
    without engine truss
    starter large

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Some service bulletins are not serial number specific, i.e. they are applicable to all engines, e.g. all 912 S engines. Can I assume that any service bulletin issued prior to the engine manufactured date does not apply to later engines, i.e. only service bulletins issued after the date of engine manufacture are applicable?

In other words I assume that any issues discovered and then notified through service bulletins are addressed/corrected so that engines manufactured and released after that service bulletin are unaffected, e.g. Service Bulletin SB-912-042 only affects engines manufactured prior to April-2004 and therefore not applicable to engines manufactured after April 2004?

Yes, that is correct - all engines manufactured AFTER a given service bulletin have already been built to the new spec.

Only the service bulletins published after the production date of your engine need to be executed (many of them are simply mandatory inspections) and logged in the engine log book.
