I have been forced to replace all my cylinder heads due to a loss of coolant in flight causing softening of the heads An expensive failure courtesy LAME forgetting to tighten two hose clamps. He has disappeared
leaving me to pay the bill. Oh Well. What I want to ask is, while all this is happening I am replacing all hoses and clamps. Have we yet progressed to silicone hoses, or a hose good to last the TBO of the engine?
I also note that single springs now replace the original doubles. Is this to reduce wear on the camshaft? I note that only two of my cam followers have been rotating, as they are supposed to, causing wear in strange places. Looks like another repair picked up by me rather than the manufacturer. I appreciate any recommendations and insights that you may have.
