Rectifier-regulator Lamp malfunction

The Lamp in the cabin from the Rectifier-regulator does not work. I have tried all. I have installed new Rectifier-regulator and new Lamp and new cable with new connections from lamp to the regulator.
But it does not work as it should. When you turn the starter key it should show light until the engine has started and began to load the battery. It does not show any light at all. So i do not know if the alternator works.
Where else could one look or check???????
The engine is Rotax 912UL and it starts well and all motorinstruments on electricity works.
Does this mean that there is som malfunction in the Alternator?? Or does the Alternator have nothing to do with the Lamp and the Alternator should function well??
