I believe that method is in the old Kitfox engine installation manual and describes the easiest way to plumb and wire the new engine as it came without CDI install for the model etc etc.

Boy all that counter weight hanging on the flange and producing all that odd load on the shaft bearing and oil seal.

Until now I had never seen anyone do this.

I want to offer an alternative type 912 and 914 engine stand, which I build.

    See it here, yanceysmachineshop.com.
It's my own design and built with American materials, in an American machine shop.
It will work perfectly for both the 912 and the 914 series of Rotax aviation engines.

You want to be careful, and not use the wrong type of stand to put a $20k+ engine on.
I hope that this can help someone prevent further damage to their Rotax engine.

    Hi Walter,

Nice simple design and gets the job done without any stress to engine parts.

    Good job.

Thank you! This design has worked very well, and when mounted properly to a sturdy bench, holds the engine safely during disassembly & reassembly.
