The current edition of TLR software only runs on a 32-bit machine.

Do you have windows installer disks? Normally they come with a set of two disks, one is 32 bit and the other 64. If you have the 32-bit disks (or even an old 32-bit win7 or XP installer) you can use your new workstation by installing a second OS from them. You can actually download the disk images from microsoft, as long as you have your installation keys handy. The 'fancy' workaround would be to create a virtual machine and install a 32-bit Windows operating system inside.

If you have win8.1 "Pro", it comes with Hyper-V built in, this lets you create a virtual machine quite easily. If you don't have the "pro" version, then you can use the (free) Oracle VirtualBox software, it can do the same thing. Or (if you have a DB9 serial port) you can set up a "DOSBOX" environment, and run from there. All of these "virtual machine" workarounds are uber-geeky solutions... :S

You could greatly simplify your life by setting up a "dual-boot" installation instead.

A more primitive (but probably just as quick!) solution would be to do an IMAGE BACKUP of your entire hard drive, then simply wipe it clean and install a 32-bit operating system, run the TLR software, then when you are done, restore your original 64-bit image from the backup.

A typical notebook image backup only takes about 20-30 minutes each way. (R-drive, Acronis, CloneZilla, many others...even some free solutions for Windows are possible)

It's very good practice to have a monthly image backup, in any case!!
