    I've got 300 hrs from my regulator fine so far but have had a failed capacitor.
    Temp strip shows it's not overheating.
    Could the capacitors have anything to do with failing regulators?
    I don't know the answer. Just putting it out there......

    Yes I was wondering the same thing-can a failed capacitor cause the regulator to fail? How do you tell if a capacitor is failed?

    I don't think that if only the capacitor fail edit would trash the reg/rec.
    I would doubt most would know if the capacitor failed. They are pretty reliable.

    Earlier in this thread some folks mentioned trying regulators by Schicke, John Deere, and Hektik. I have run across another one, US made I believe: ElectroSport ESR439. It supposedly is a 40 amp mosfet regulator. Has anyone had any experience good or bad with this one?
