Re: Ignition Module Testing/Overhaul by Carmo Electronics
by Allan Spensor » 3 years ago
I know this is an OLD topic, but I do have some possibly relevant info:
When we wanted to replace our 912 ignition modules about a year ago we got non-Rotax ones sold as specifically for Rotax. From Allistair at we paid about $450 for the pair. allistair@sportflight.com .
Allistair was very knowledgeable and helpful re the install. These modules come with long wiring harnesses which make it possible to have several options as to where to mount them. Because the don't HAVE to be mounted right on top of the Rotax (which is a high temperature location with high vibration, presumably they'll have better longevity. They include a softstart feature. As far as we can tell they are as good or better than the OEM parts.
