Hello Rotax gurus and enthusiasts,

Im getting a Lane A cylinder 3/4 Ignition fault when I power back to idle and my oil temps are around or above 230 degrees.

In my testing I can’t replicate this with cooler temps.   This problem was very intermittent in the past and now that its over 90 degrees outside everyday I’m seeing it frequently when I’m on approach.   If I reset lane A the issue goes away and usually doesn’t return which is also in line with the cooler oil temp theory as the oil has now cooled into the the 220s or lower

When the lane light comes on I get the “thunk” sound of the engine that you sometimes hear when doing lane checks or when the generator switches over at 2400 RPM

I have pulled the plug connectors off cylinder 3 and 4 and tested resistance, all around 4.8.   I swapped the top and bottom connectors to see if the issue moved to lane B and it didn’t.   I have not replaced spark plugs which would be my next procedure.   I’m running the Rotax plugs and these have around 150 hours on them    I have 358 hours on the engine.

I can fly for 2 hours without issue, this only happens when powering back to idle or near idle like when on approach and my oil temps are still high.  With the caution light the engine is still running perfectly as far as I can tell.
