Rotax 508

Hey!

i have a rotax 508 engine i found when i was cleaning out my fathers garage. I Can’t really find any information about it so i guess its a pretty rare engine, what i understand its similar to 2 stroke rotax 503 engine but rotax 508 its 4 stroke. Am i right?

Anyone know anything about This engine? And How much can This engine be worth if i put it on eBay or something like that with international shipping?

The 508 UL is basically an antique; its last IPC was published in 1988 and spare parts are no longer in production.
Currently we have no information online, but I just unearthed the ancient paper records and will scan the service manual into our historical documents library later this week when time permits.

I have never seen one in person, but I can confirm that it was a 2-cylinder 4-stroke, and very few were produced. Based on the one service instruction shared, it might have more in common with the 447 than the 503.

PS: if anyone is interested in restoring one of these museum pieces, in February 2003 the ROTAX UK distributor acquired the entire stock of all remaining ROTAX 508 spare parts.
