Will SI-2ST-008 Be updated to allow the use of these new fuels, Better and safer than EN228 E10,  and more suitable than 100LL for use in two strokes, but technically not approved by rotax?

    Hi John

See the latest SI on fluids.  Given that UL91 is an AVGAS to an ASTM standard it is approved and has been for some time.  The issue with this fuel is it tends to be regional, almost exclusively supply only in Europe.  I do not know if it would be available in your country.

It is understood that the fluids that are approved for the 4 strokes would, where they are the same such as fuel and coolants, be applicable to the 2 strokes.  Rotax however will not run additional testing on 2 strokes as they no longer produce them.

    SI-916 i-001R4 / SI-915 i-001R5

    SI-912 i-001R10 / SI-912-016R15

    SI-914-019R15

    This SI revises SI-912 i-001R9/SI-915 i-001R4/SI-912-016R14/SI-914-019R14/SI-916 i-001R3 dated 01 Dec. 2022

    Cheers

    Hi Rotax Wizard.

Can I ask...are you a representative of rotax?

    Hi John

Fair question.  I am not a direct employee of Rotax but have worked with them for many years at different levels.  I would prefer to remain anonymous in that my interactions with them are somewhat privileged and not something that I wish to disclose.  The Rotax-Owner people do know who I am and a handful of others on the forum.

I do work with the ASTM committees with regards to the aviation related groups.  Information I post in general is all public knowledge at some level and we can request access to get more when it is needed.

    Cheers
