Hello everyone, Bill, Nick and the rest of the forum,
It took me a while to make my 618 numbers on my EIS to match and greatfull for the assistance of this forum,
I beleive the issue was there but I was so happy at least I got 75% power with sweet numbers matching on low middle and part of the high throtle setings, and did not pay attention on the warning light on the EIS for the EGT above 6000RPM as 5800 was doing the job,
I was flying alone and 5800 -6000 was plenty, but when I have a pasengers and need the additional RPM on climb and take off I get the red warning light and 1200 temp, I did not give it a chanse to go any higher as I imediately easy off the trotlle and immediately everything went back to normal,
I can cruise very comfortable at 5500RPM BUT now I know if I need the full throttle will not be there,
I will hate to start doing and testing everything from the start as all my other trotle setting are perfect, is there a posibility to get right on to the broblem with out messing everything else again?
Main Jet Pto side 152, MAG side 162,based on the BINGS 54 recomendations with out intake silancer and configured on main jet size170 outside temp around 80-85 with 1500 altitude. Neddle jet set has 2 setings and I have the O ring on the bottom, Bill? NIck?? thinking of you I haven;t start pulling my hair yet,
Regards

    Yanis,

Red light shouldn't come on at 6000 rpm. You can change the red light setting in the EIS to come on wherever you want it to. It sounds like your warning light is coming on too soon. If you have an EIS manual, it tells you how to change this setting. I usually set them at 6400 rpm. If you don't have a manual, you can email Grand Rapids Technologies and they will email you a copy. Be sure to include the model number of your EIS. They have an outstanding customer service department.

Remember that propeller pitch is the only thing that controls maximum rpm. If you have an adjustable prop, you should set it so that your engine cannot exceed its maximum rated rpm.

If you are getting the 1200f reading at full throttle, you might try a larger main jet. The jet needle controls the mixture in the middle ranges but the main jet controls the mixture at full throttle. I would first try the rotax recommended jets and use the same jet in both carbs.

Hi Bill and thank you for the quick respont,
Propeler RPM is not my issue, The red light is for the EGT on full throtle, Any Idea why they call for diferent size main jet for the PTO side and different for the MAG side carbs? I do suspect that main jet is my current issue. Ido not use intake silancer, The startegy will be to install the right main jets, Right now it runs perfect and all the number are in proper order up to 75% power, once I click in full power I get the red warning light for EGT. WIll you pleas ehelp me to pick the right main jets??

Yes Bill I am right I just checked the CPS Book it calls for 170 main jet for MAG side and 160 for the PTO side, and we still have to calculate the adjustements for altitude and temp

    Yanis,

I was wrong on the same size main jets. The specifications are for different size main jets in each carb. It does sound like your main jets are too small. At your 1500ft altitude, the recommended jets (160-170) should work OK.

You might also check your needle again. The circlip should be in the 3rd slot down from the top of the needle and the O ring on TOP of the circlip.

:P Hello Bill and everyone else,
The red warning light issue has been solved, The problem was the main Jets was to small for my area of flying as Bill stated, I did replace them with 170 & 160 and runs on my high side with no more warnings Numbers are matching,
I do manualy activate the RAVE SYSTEM A LITTLE ON THE START A LITTLE MORE ON THE MIDDLE RANGE AND FULL ON HIGH THROTLE SETINGS Maybe that helps too,
