Spark plug thread cleaning
Hi all,
Any suggestion about a safe way to clean the cilinder head thread for the spark plug, without introducing debris into the cylinder? Specially the ones at the top of the engine
Thanks!
Paco

Hi Paco,
Do not use a tap to run down in there. It will cut the metal and leave metal down inside the cylinder.
Use a 12mm thread chaser. All it does is clean and or reshape the threads without cutting the metal. Apply some of your spark plug thermal paste to to the thread chaser to help lube and make it easier to insert. No need to glob it on. If it meets a little resistance threading down work it back and forth some. Don't just try and muscle it down inside. Be gentle.
