Mea Culpa, Jeff,
I tried a commercial ($$$) propeller balancing service. After much chanting/gestures/ appeasement of deities, prop got to .15ips & I was informed that further adjustments unlikly to be cost effective.
On flight home, noticed no improvement / difference, from flight to service. Human perception is not good at determining finer points of vibration, so assumed all was well/ moneys well spent.
On perusing my propellers operator manual, I found advice to the effect that having a dynamic balance performed every 100 hrs would be a good thing. This got me to thinking about the accumulated cost of the commercial service for every 100hrly, the time taken, the inconvenience of weather cancellations, etc etc.
I acquired a preloved DynaVibe @ eyewater cost - It turned out to be quite quick / easy to get my prop balanced to .5 ips - turbine smooth!!!!😀
Added benefit (I love those) was the check on my Dynon EFB engine tacho readings.
Further benefits may accrue, with my offer to local aviators of a dynamic balancing service, for a small fee😁
😈
