I have a Dynon touch. It displays 2 EGT sensors. They are in the rear cylinder exhaust pipes. I was wondering if it would make any sense to have all four cylinders monitored. Can the Dynon handle it? How much work is it to install the thermocouple’s?

    Hi Walt.

"I was wondering if it would make any sense to have all four cylinders monitored."

You would get all 4 EGT's - the question is would the additional two EGT's, enhance your awareness/management of your engine - I suspect not.

    "Can the Dynon handle it"

I believe so however this is a Dynon specific question - Google your particular Dynon - information is likly in the Installation Manual. Failing that contact Dynon - they have a technical question/answer service.

"How much work is it to install the thermocouples'?"

    Not a lot.

Dynon supply the hose clamp type securing system (may do others).

Use the Dynon supplied thermocouples - follow the installation instructions. The thermocouples are quite long. They can be installed, at the correct distance from exhaust socket, any position  around the pipe. To ensure the installed thermocouple will have sufficient clearance (cowling/other engine components) - carefully measure/select the best position BEFORE removing the exhaust pipes.

Removed exhaust pipe can be drilled by hand or in a pedestals drill.  Hole location/ diameter as per instructions - if not available hole just slightly larger than probe/snug fit. A light countrsink of the hole will assist in obtaining a gas/exhaust tight seal.😈
