Roger, thank you for the input. It seems that the crimped power lead from stator makes good contact in the 6pin molex plug. Do to the confined space, and my limited knowledge, I was not sure that I could really evaluate the engine side of the connections....any hints? or pics I could reference? I noticed some others on this forum had similar issues, and one fella said his leads seemed to be intermittently shorting to the starter motor. I am at a disadvantage now because I had to leave the plane in Stamford, TX, after flying it only 170 miles towards my destination in MT. I can't seem to find Rotax saavy help in the region. The resistance across the red power leads are with in spec, as are the values from each lead to ground. If I cannot get the issue resolved in TX, I may have to trailer the plane back to MT, doesn't seem wise to fly 900 miles with an ignition issue, even though the engine seems to run great with both switches ON. Any thoughts are much appreciated, Rex

Always suspect the mag switch if it is the rotary type. So many problems with them and the problems can be very bizarre: dead mags, high mag drop, no mag drop and even intermittent faults!
Long live the good old toggle switch!

Rob, The switches are toggles, which I tested, and when stator power leads are swapped, the faulty circuit occurs on the opposite switch, so I don't think switches are at fault in this situation, thx, Rex

are you de-pinning the red stator wires to swap them? or are you swapping the whole six-pin connector? (that would also swap the mag switch wires so the problem should go to the other mag)

Good point Rob. I completely forgot to mention the switch.
