Many aircraft have the following typical loads or a sub-set of them.
VHF radio and intercoms,
Lighting and strobes,
GPS,
iPADs,
12V CIG sockets and accessories.
All of these devices place a load on the electrical system.
LED strobe or beacon lights for example, typically consume 0.4A average current and 4A peak current.
VHF radio systems might consume 150mA on standby (receive) mode and 2A peak current during transmit.
Plus all the other loads mentioned above add up to a maximum power consumption.
It is relatively easy to determine the sum of the load currents, either theoretically or by measurement.
However, after completing the analysis, what is the average and the peak 12V electrical power that can be expected from the 912UL electrical system so that the battery is being charged and not discharged during flight.
Could someone point me to the correct Rotax Technical reference manual and chapter for these electrical specifications.
Thanks.
