    Thanks for the file.
If it is not the VDO sensor what could then be the cause? Pressure regulator? Replace the spring and ball?

The answer is YES! It could be anything!

If you are saying you are seeing 5bar at idle immediately after startup and then 4 bar in flight with a hot engine, I would suspect the instrumentation first.

Do you see ZERO pressure with the engine Stopped?
Does the pressure increase with increasing engine speed? Or does it just remain constant?
Does the pressure decrease with increasing Oil Temperature.

The first thing to do is remove the oil sender and install a mechanical Dial and Needle type pressure gauge.
It is unlikely the ball and spring are the problem, but they are an easy One Bolt inspection.

Zero pressure when engine is stopped.
Pressure does not increase with increasing RPM.
Pressure decreases slightly with increasing oil temp: 5 bar from ambient to about 90 degrees C and 4 bar @ 105 degrees C oil temp.

I would suspect instrumentation first. Install the gauge! <---<<< ***
105°C Oil at Cruise should be below 3 bar.

Confirm: 5 bar at startup idle?

Unless the engine is plugged up...
    What Oil do you use?
    What Fuel? Mogas or 100LL?
When was the last Oil Change?

YES it is 5 bar at startup idle! Could there be an unnecessary shim under the spring of the pressure regulator? Will check this.

    Oil: AEROSHELL Sport Plus 4
    Fuel: Mogas
