I have a water leak at 27 hours on my new 912 UL. I think its the cap. Water accumulates in the area directly behind the cap and flies all over the engine compartment. see pics. The cap appears to sit slightly elevated at the rear of its lip. The lip of the coolant reservoir is not symmetrical like the one on my friend's plane. see pics.
I found coolant in the fuel pump discharge tube on the mechanical pump. I think that is from magic, because it is not coming from the fuel pump, and there is no evidence of water in the oil or oil in the coolant. It seems that it is being blown up there from all the turbulence under the cowl, but, i'm seeking assurances. I tried to weedle my friends cap off his plane for a day but ... alas, he knows me. I already have a lot of his tools.
Is the water coolant lip the issue here? see pics.

Have you tried re-seating the cap and then blow the tube out with some air and try again?

I borrowed Jeff's cap, flew for an hour and did VX and other sundry difficult maneuvers. got the temp to 190 and had a near perfect landing. No leaks. its the cap
I think I can get one at National Aeronautics Parts Association (NAPA)

Nope, I had to ante up the money and order from Rotax. I just could't begin the slow and spiraling decent into the abyss of putting car parts on my airplane. Rotax got my money, maybe this time I'll get a cap that keeps the coolant in the engine. Oh Happy day.
