In addition to the above, I highly recommend an oil analysis.

The gearbox will be removed next week.  If anything obvious is found I'll post pictures.  Thank you, everyone.

The gearbox is off and as expected the damage was found.  A new propeller shaft will be required during the overhaul among the other parts that will be inspected after disassembly.
