Re: 912 ULS over 200°F EGT difference

Alright, so I definitely have to adjust my prop pitch.
I tested everything today and get maximum 5200rpm in 4000ft at MAP 25.2 INHG (full throttle).
Mag check was fine I think. The rpm difference between A and B is about 20-30rpm. In general the rpm drops by 100-120rpm during mag check.
I flew some different throttle positions and got the following results (everything horizontally):
MAP 20.8 - 4100rpm - EGT left 1270F, right 1193F
MAP 21.5 - 4300rpm - EGT left 1346F, right 1188F
MAP 22.5 - 4550rpm - EGT left 1400F, right 1210F
MAP 23.4 - 4630rpm - EGT left 1365F, right 1200F
MAP 25.2 - 5200rpm - EGT left 1286F, right 1277F
I hope this helps a little bit. Unfortunately I couldn’t check the plugs today - had not enough time left.

Hi Roger.
Why do you recommend cruising at higher than 4500 rpm,?

I recently repitched my prop so I could produce more rpm/power on takeoff/climb when I'm flying with a passenger..
Just 1/2 degree finer pitch changed my max rpm in level flight from around 5300 to over 5700. Since max continuous is, of course, 5500, I have traded off some top cruise speed for the better climb-out...
