    Hi All

Rotax does make some special (expensive) tooling for this job if you are not able to figure it out on your own.  Unfortunately there is no supporting text that tells you how to do this.  One would require air pressure or a rope lock to hold the valves in place while you remove the keepers on the valve springs.  if you do not know how to do this then I would not attempt this on your engine the first time.  A mistake here can be expensive.

    Cheers

And, it would seem that this bargain spring tool is no longer available:

I'm not afraid of pulling the springs so much or doing the rope trick, but I don't know if pulling the stem seals and replacing them is complicated in any way. And, Forum pet peeve: people don't seem to have the time or motivation to come back to their post and provide the final solution to their problem for everyone's benefit. I see many such threads on this forum.

    Hi Robert

The tool you list is no longer available.  It was a 3rd party tool that was developed years ago for a specific issue on replacement of the valve spring keepers on the listed SB shown in the add form LEAF.  I personally have never found a reason to replace just the inlet valve seals.  Generally if a valve seal is damaged the whole head would come off for inspection of the valves and pushrods as well is my experience.

    Cheers

Seems as though the Rotax compression tool is hardly available either. Backordered. Someone suggested that LeadingEdge loans put tools. For now, my crafty mechanic did it the old fashioned way (photo). Damned if it didn’t work, but best with two people, especially on the reinstall.
