Overload and slipper clutches 912ULS

Hi Mike,

What's the year of your engine Mfg? 

Right around 2003'ish Kodiak that imports Rotax into the US started installing the clutches in all their 912ULS engines. I'm going to go out on a limb (a big thick one) and say yours is only a few years old. I see you ask Rotax Owner this question so we'll know soon. Don't you have the engine manual that came with the plane / engine?

Hi Roger, don't know the year of manufacture yet (I asked that in a separate post based on serial number) but I think it is 2022.  My distributor took delivery in December 2022.  The engine is in a Kodiak shipping crate.

I saw conflicting posts about clutches--one said that the slipper and overload clutches were the same, but I think I saw one from you that said they were different?

Your engine is all set. I wouldn't worry about it. If it's a 2022 it has all the bells and whistles.

OK...  Are "slipper" and "overload" two different names for the same clutch, or are there actually two different clutches?
