Like they said it was a liability issue with NGK and the new ones are made by Bosch with the Rotax brand on them so Rotax now takes full responsibility for those plugs.

Anyone have an alternate option for the Rotax plugs in the 915 engine?

Thanks all.  I will stick with NGK!  If it aint broke, don't fix it right!  :)

FYI be aware that there are also NGK DCPR8EIX - note the IX - which *do not* work. These have the larger electrical connector which does not come off.

An old story but the topic is still in time and will never die.

I made a comparsion test for ROTAX and NGK plugs. You will find it at one of the articles at my homepage http://www.hkk-edv.de  - chose english and find it out at microlight - ignition. Its for the 80 HP but i think you can tranfere it to the 100 PS also.

@ Roger: ROTAX is fully responible for the plugs? Maybe for the plugs but not for engine damage - in a german forum you can read of loss of middle electrode at new ROTAX plugs caused totally engine damage - ROTAX statement: Maybe overheating, overstress and so on - operater. Our aviation workshop was not fully satisfied with the "new" plugs. Sometimes short loss of sparks and more sooting - maybe a problem of the first series and now this could be solved - i don't know.

    aeronautical greetings
