Eventually got the aircraft flying again. We replaced all the hoses (Fuel, Coolant & Oil) while we had the engine out.
The thing that worries me is the Stator / Generator isn't a FAIL SAFE System. The A & B Winding are wound on top of each other, they are not separated. As an Electrical Engineer this is pointless and only asking for trouble. Rotax design good mechanical parts but they badly let themselves down on the Electrical / Electronic bits.

While I agree that some separation in the stators may improve the design, I have to say I’ve not seen or heard of both stators failing. The failures I know of, or have read about on this forum, have all been the B stator, and in no case has this precipitated a failure of stator A. I assume that stator A failures are seldom because the output of that stator is optimized for the engine loads, which are very predictable. However, the problems that owners have experienced with stator B are undeniable.
