Hello

We have just ordered a 915 is engine which is to be used in a prototype drone here in Australia.

Can you tell me what the maximum crankshaft torque is for this engine?

Based on the dyno readings in a controlled environment, we saw 176NM and 145HP at 5800 RPM (Max RPM). These numbers may vary depending on the fuel grade and outside running conditions.

The 915 is designed to maintain horsepower to 15000ft, so there is no direct relationship between throttle position and manifold pressure, as you would find on an old continental or Lycoming. Due to complicated mapping in the ECU, the engine's torque and other peramters may vary drastically to maintain horsepower.

You can see the results from the testing we did in house on our dyno. We are developing also a 160/180/200HP version of the 915iS called EP917Ti which will be 5-10Kg lighter also if you ever need more power.

    183Nm peak torque
