The ignited-boxes do not “cut off” ignition so you fall out of the sky and die, they just don’t provide ignition for revs above the limit. All that happens is that RPM does not increase over the set limit. When this happens and the RPM-limiter does his job the engine seems to run a little rough. If this happens right after take of your set up needs to be addressed.
To me this is a way to prevent unwanted over-speeding not an autopilot thing for RPM, neither does it make proper pitching obsolete.
If regulations in a specific country do not allow the use of better ignition boxes owners are advised to follow. However, it’s not the same all over the world. I can confirm that these boxes give your Rotax a smother engine run (and that the RPM-limiter works fine)
