Hello Jim,
the service bulletin is sufficient for me. It makes no sense to specify the milligrams needed per plug. Nor how to wet the thread. It's about wetting (not lubricating) the thread so that the different metals of the spark plug and the cylinder head do not bake together under heat. The paste should also transfer the temperature, but this is overrated. The heat is always transferred from the spark plug to the cylinder head or vice versa. With a paste like this it just works a little better.
The main message is that under no circumstances should the paste be applied to the electrode or too far forward on the thread because the paste is then in the combustion chamber, which can lead to damage.
