I have 2 Bing 54 carbs on my Rotax 582 mod 99. I just found out that there are 2 models - 54-1 & 54-2.

How can I find out which ones I have?

I can't help you Mike, but I'm interested in why you want to know, considering I fly behind a bluehead 582.

Did a search and came up with this http://www.procarbshop.com/offroad/54x.html
I have the type 2 carbies. A quick look shows differences in positioning of the fuel supply spigot, and also the enrichener (choke) circuit.

    This gets curiouser and curiouser.

Apparently there are three types of 54 carbs. The ones I am familiar with have the single cable tube in the top of the carb, rather than two, and the small slide and spring, which are shown directly behind the carb slide in the exploded view of #1 and #2 , are no longer there.

    John,

If you have a model 99, you probably have the newest type. The newest model has a single brass tube into the top of the carb and the enrichener circuit is on the right side of the carb with a rubber boot on top. That boot may or may not have a choke cable in it. If you have a primer circuit, the enrichener is probably not hooked up and you only have one cable going to each carb.
