Yes, the time limited parts a.k.a. rubber change is in the Line Maint. manual. I've done more than I can count and have 3 in January. If you have an Mfg. manufactured aircraft then they usually say to follow the Rotax manuals. The things is that we do know hoses can go longer, but they can also fail. We drive cars and motorcycles until they usually fail, but they get to pull over to the curb. If ours fail we may be landing in the mountains, bad terrain or may hurt someone as a passenger or on the ground. So a line had to be drawn in the sand to help make sure those things don't happen to us. We try to observe safety margins and not push things to the limit. Those types of consequences can be very expansive with parts and human liability. We want to enjoy our plane and its flights and not worry that we might not make it.
