Some advice please. Our fixed pitch Hoffman propellor is approaching overhaul. Cost of overhaul approx 3k, new prop 4k but seems there are lots of other options for props around 2k. Anyone have a suggestion for a suitable prop for a p2002jf. We are a flight school so mostly climbing descending and circuits.

Thank you

There are good props out there. Kind of like  Chevy  and Ford's. They both have 4 wheels and get you to where you're  going, but many people like one over the other. Some of this may also depend on which country you live in.  Sensenich seems to be good and the E-Prop seems to be one of the new top choices with most owners claiming improved performance.

Bottom line it looks like you have a decision in your future.

During a 14 different prop project years ago rpm / pitch setting was the deciding factor for performance and most of the different props had equal performance when pitched the same.

Under Australian rules for training/hire aircraft, you are limited to the propeller(s) recommended by the aircraft manufacturer.
