Yes, that feature is in the works (currently under development...)

Currently, the "Discover | Recent Topics" option brings up a list of all the latest new posts (and also the 'most-recently-replied-to' posts) across all the forums - but this system does not yet track which ones you have looked at (or haven't looked at)

The forums used to allow one to mark the forum as read.  What happened?

Our previous forum software had finally become unsupported. (Nothing lasts forever, on the internet!) So we had to remove the old forum software, purchase a new and completely different software platform, and migrate all the historical forum data to it. This new forum software is not identical in format, and its developers are working on several requested features for us, but it will take some time. It has been months!!  When is the "unread" option becoming available again?

That feature is among several we are anxiously waiting for in the new year. There has been considerable havoc in the fabric of the web-programming universe the past several months - development everywhere has been slowed by a large contingent of security exploits that urgently needed to be addressed (Thanks, lazy criminal hackers everywhere...)
