Is it normal for the mag check not to have RPM drop at all, on either mag?
Any assistance will be apreciated.

Regards to All.

    Hi Yanis,

Depending on your rpm (too low) the drop could be very smooth and maybe not even noticed. Some instruments are better at picking up the rpm drop too. What I mean is some tachs are a little more responsive. All engines don't have the same mag drop, yours just may be one with a smaller drop than someone else. Try a little higher rpm for the mag drop check and see if that helps.

You get some odd results as well from the tach....a lot of rotax 2 stroke owners just go by ear...listen to the mag drop....you will hear a big drop if there is a problem...thats what I do anyway....and on my 503dcdi the engine note does not change very much during the check.

Yanis, there should be little or no drop in rpm in a well running engine, after all, all you are doing is switching off a duplicate electrical circuit to make sure that the other one is working.

    Gentleman, You are all right,
I do apreciate your input, I did my mag check with an increased RPM and yes it was noticable,
    Thank you all very much
