912ULS, we installed the oil breather line as described in the service
bulletin for installation, but it oozes under the belly. I'm guessing
this is normal? But is there any way to prevent the ugly mess under
the belly of my plane?

    Make sure you do not have that breather tube out in the air stream. It should be back out of any negative pressure. Make sure the tank level isn't any higher than the top mark. Some oil vapor is normal and on a white bottom plane over 100 hrs. it will have a slight yellow tinge, but should wipe right off. If you vapor line is in the air stream then it may be getting sucked out.

    I've tried it in a few different positions - up high out of the slipstream and
    the turbulent air inside against the firewall blows it up on the firewall. I run
    my oil at the full mark - seems like that's where it should be ;)

    Is there any solution? can I go UP with the vent line and then back down to the
    bottom etc?

    yes... I too have a white skin plane.... :)

    Recheck all the oil lines from the tank to the inlet of the oil pump, including any cooler you have installed, what i would be looking for is any obstruction or bend causing low flow to the pump. In effect causing slight over filling of tank in operations. Remember, the only thing that returns oil to tank is case pressure, and you seem to have that.

    I'm wondering if he may have a higher pressure leak somewhere that may be causing this. I'm not sure.

    Higher pressure from case 'may" be a issue, here is another source that i have seen that folks need to consider, Which oil pick up on the lower case is being used? Oil trapped in case, transfers to tank at different eng attitude, ends up overboard. Pusher and tractor installs use different pick ups. I dont know what type of plane its on, but we have seen a couple installs using the wrong sump pickup for the installation.
