Hi Jeff,
Have spent the last two days checking everything I can think of.
Did not find a " smoking gun".
Decided to supplement existing orange fire sleeve, on long fuel line from gascolater to mechanical pump, with reflective aluminised adhesive backed air-condition tape and as an added precaution, fitted a lightweight aluminium heat shield to the gascolator.
I have never experienced fuel vaporisation in the air - only on the ground. The ground symptoms, (ATEC Zephyr, 912 ULS,) involved - very hot day (40+C) ard starting, loss of power & rough running after short (15-20 min) engine shutdown & restart.. The current symptoms are in Cruise, random low pressure/high flow readings, without any change in engine performance.
I think the problem more likly to be electronic/electrical - to this end have checked every connection for security /good fit. Found EMS module plugs were connected but benefited additional tightening of security screws ?????
If the problem persists, I will certainly give the AvGas a go.😈

Hi Sean,
In one of your posts in another thread you mentioned that your aircraft's fuel tanks differ from the standard Sonex configuration. Is there any possibility that at a low fuel level (after 2-3 hours) and a nose-low attitude (in cruise or descent), fuel sloshing in the tanks could be momentarily unporting the fuel pickup and letting small amounts of air into the fuel supply?
