Charger Coil fault - sanity check
I have developed a problem on my 912UL which i noticed during the mag check, B side not firing at all...
I measured resistances as per the heavy maintenance manual, and found that one of the charger coil's resistance is way off, around 600k Ohm (cold engine) and infinite resistance when the engine is hot. I then switched the leads coming from the coils and as a result the A side was not firing at all.
I pulled the mesh and checked the wire going to the coil... no break in the wire was found. I am still hoping that it is not the coil itself but the ground which has become oxidized...
Just need a sanity check before I start pulling the stator and such... did I miss something?
Thanks,
M
