Sticky wastegate on a 914

of the wastegate with LOCTITE Anti-Seize 8151, ROTAX

part no. 297434".

Thanks, I wish I had one.  My engine is an older 914 model and didn’t come with the hole for lubrication.

Best is to use Mouse Milk, a high temperature penetrating oil that was originally used to keep mice off struts.  When shutting down always allow 2 minutes for oil to take heat away from that turbo.  Use of fully synthetic oil is best if using Mogas and prevents coke formation which is sticking your wastegate.

Thanks Russ.  I’ve been using synthetic oil and mouse milk penetrating oil.  The engine sat for about two months and now is really sticky.  I’ve been trying to shoot the mouse milk up there and I’m moving it back and forth.  I got it so that it moves pretty good in the middle range but gets sticky at the ends.  The return spring has a hard time drawing it back form closed.

the only way is to remove the muffler and perform lubrication. this is what we do, if u don't have the hole.
