    I have replaced a 912 with a 912is.
This is very similar to replacing a 914 with a 915.
The Engine mount issue is the easy part.

    Things to consider...
The Carb vs Throttle Body/Airbox geometry will be physically different.
You will be adding a Large Fuse Box that you did not have before. It is NOT a small item!
You will be adding the ECM Computer box that you did not have before.
The entire panel will need to be converted from individual gauges to an EFIS display as the engine will now report all parameters over the CAN BUS.
A new wiring harness will need to be designed and installed to replace the current harness.

The 915 may look physically similar to the 914 from 10m away but is a completely different engine once you look at the details.
It will not be a simple 2-week swap out. It will be a major redesign.

Above the cost of the engine, I would add another $10K USD to the budget if you will be doing the ALL the work yourself.

I was thinking more along the same lines as Bill. What a major undertaking to do a complete retro fit on an existing plane and the cowl.
