Re: Engine quit right after 1st start
by Uri hadar » 4 years ago
Hi all,
Thank you for addressing my question! much appreciated
My battery is 1 year old, will be very surprising (and disappointing) if it is not able to supply the current and voltage required for the start up so quickly :(
Based on the responses, I tried to start the engine with the throttle set to more power - 50%, Engine started w/o quitting but the ECU restarted :(
Last weekend, I tried a different way , with the throttle at full idle I hit the starter and increased the throttle until the engine started up (I think this is what Roger meant by cracking the throttle), once the engine was running, I reduced the RPM to 2000-2500.
If you are sensitive and quick on the throttle, it gives good results, starting the engine on the first try without reseting the ECU
It worked for 1 out of 2 cold startups...
At least it is good to know this phenomena of engine quitting on 1st start is well known
