take off 5800 rpm at 40 on the map gauge prop set fine I am unsure how accurate the knock meter is I fitted it to check for detonation against mogas and avgas fuels by switching between the tanks, low and high revs it hardly lights up but always has in the mid range Do these engines all run a bit rough mid revs As I said the sensor is bolted under a rocker cover stud on the No 3 cylinder

I think it is just a small microphone as the sender I bolted it under no 3 rocker cover stud and if you tap the cover with the handle of a screw driver it lights up a series of leds on a panel I fitted to the dash Rob was right it was not as bad if I fined up the prop pitch before reducing revs, but I think it is a handy gauge to see how the engine is running.

Thanks Greg, is the sender inside the rocker cover (in the oil) and if so is there a cable that you have to run out from under the rocker cover?
